Welcome to IES!

Welcome to your second year of IES!  This year, we will concentrate on developing reading and writing skills as we explore literature together.  This blog has been created as a place for our class to interact not only with each other, but also with the hope of interacting with readers from around the world!
Guests, please leave a comment to introduce yourself and tell us where you're from!  On the first day of classes, IES students will be surprised to find that they have been welcomed in to the new academic year!

Good of you, Mary, to have this blog ready and waiting students - so good in fact that I've already gleaned the URL for an MLA guide from the sidebar!

Students of Mary, you have much to look forward to, not only in writing here on this blog but also in class where I imagine Mary will be teaching person to person.

I hope you'll all enjoy the blend of off- and online learning!

Hi everybody,

I´d like to share a quotation by one of Amy Lowel´s characters in her book ¨Sword Blades and Poppy Seeds¨:
¨All books are either dreams or swords, you can cut, or you can drug, with words¨
Enjoy Literature! Enjoy Life!
